Supernova Villach: Grand Opening Marks the Start of a Comprehensive Revitalization Strategy

From former Kika/Leiner site to modern shopping destination – Supernova Group invests in sustainable redevelopment and creates new momentum for the region

With the opening of the new Supernova Villach on September 11, the Supernova Group is sending a strong signal in support of its long-term revitalization strategy. At the traditional location on Kärntnerstraße 7, formerly Leiner, a modern shopping center has been created within just a few months, bringing together retail, gastronomy, and leisure under one roof.

The transformation of the former furniture store into a vibrant shopping center is only the beginning: in the coming years, additional former Kika and Leiner properties will be gradually revitalized and transformed into contemporary regional shopping and community centers. With this approach, the Supernova Group strengthens both the attractiveness of the locations and the economic development of the respective regions.

“With Supernova Villach, we want to demonstrate how existing retail spaces can be reimagined and sustainably redeveloped. Our goal is to create places that invite people not only to shop, but also to stay, meet, and enjoy – added value for visitors, the city, and the entire region,” explains Markus Pinggera, Managing Director of Supernova Group.

The new center in Villach offers an attractive mix ranging from groceries and drugstores to fashion, sports, furniture, and lifestyle. Among the largest tenants in the shopping center are Modehaus Röther, Woolworth, Möbelhaus Singer, Tedi, KIK, Fressnapf, and NKD. The offer is complemented by diverse gastronomy as well as fitness and leisure facilities, making Supernova Villach a true meeting place for the whole family and ensuring the sustainable revitalization of the location.

The adjoining retail park is also participating in the opening, with tenants including Intersport, Deichmann, Takko, Billa, Bipa, Kärntner Sparkasse, and the restaurant Orientino.

By creating around 80 new jobs, Supernova Group underlines its role as a reliable partner for the region and its clear focus on a sustainable growth and revitalization strategy.

At the grand opening on September 11, visitors can also look forward to a varied program with attractive promotions throughout the center.
