The donated microscope, featuring an advanced optical system and an expanded field of view, enables greater accuracy, faster interpretation of findings, and more reliable decision-making that directly impacts patient treatment.
The Supernova Zadar shopping center has donated a state-of-the-art Olympus BX46F-1-3 microscope worth EUR 26,590 to Zadar General Hospital. The device has been installed in the Department of Pathology and Cytology, one of the key diagnostic services within the hospital system.
The Department of Pathology and Cytology plays an exceptionally important role in the process of establishing diagnoses, determining therapy, and monitoring treatment outcomes, particularly for oncology patients. Although their work rarely attracts wider public attention, the findings of pathologists are crucial for medical decision-making across almost all branches of medicine.
Due to intensive daily work and a large number of samples, existing equipment has faced technical limitations and obsolescence, which can affect the speed and precision of diagnostic procedures. The donated Olympus BX46F-1-3 microscope, with its advanced optical system and expanded field of view, allows for greater accuracy, faster interpretation of findings, and more confident decision-making that directly affects patient treatment.
“For our department, this donation represents a significant improvement in the quality of working conditions, efficiency, and professional standards, while for the institution as a whole it constitutes an investment in the quality of healthcare and patient safety. We would like to thank the Supernova Zadar Shopping Center for this valuable donation and for recognizing the importance of pathology within the overall healthcare system,” said Ivana Marić, MD, Head of the Department of Pathology and Cytology at Zadar General Hospital.
In addition to its technical advantages, the device also provides better working conditions for department staff, which in the long term contributes to the quality of healthcare services provided.
“We are pleased that once again this year we can contribute to the modernization of Zadar General Hospital and support the work of professionals whose daily contribution to patient health is invaluable. This donation symbolizes our desire to provide our fellow citizens with concrete and long-term support through continuous and meaningful donations,” emphasized Iva Fisher, Center Manager of the Supernova Zadar Shopping Center.
With this donation, the Supernova Zadar Shopping Center has once again demonstrated its social responsibility and support for the local community, particularly in the healthcare sector, where investments in modern equipment directly contribute to higher-quality and safer patient care.
